Investment20/20
Investment20/20 is a first line of support for school leavers and graduate trainees wanting to navigate their way into a career in investment management. Its mission is to bring more diverse talent to the investment management industry.
We have been actively working with Investment20/20 since 2018 to help young people who may not have previously considered a career in asset management to understand what we do and make joining the industry easier and more accessible. So far we have recruited four individuals through the partnership, with successful candidates joining our Distribution, Legal, HR and Stewardship & ESG teams.
Investment20/20 Martin Currie success stories
Eoghan McGrath
Investment Analyst, Stewardship, Sustainability and Impact
What made my Investment20/20 experience so invaluable was the combination of support provide within my role, and the freedom I was afforded outside of it.
Throughout my year as a Trainee I was actively encouraged to engage with business areas outside of my own to gain a holistic perspective of the company, to raise questions, and to get involved in projects and pieces of work wherever possible.
Importantly, the traineeship gave me the opportunity to gain confidence and build role-specific skills, within a welcoming environment where I could develop and gain valuable experience kickstarted my career.
Sarah Flucker
Client Services Operation Specialist
As an Investment 20/20 graduate (2021) the different opportunities I have been exposed to have widened my outlook and abilities, I have been encouraged to hone invaluable skills that I will continue to use throughout my career.
Martin Currie’s partnership with Investment 20/20 is integral to continuing to help power an innovative, inclusive and sustainable investment culture.

Diversity & Inclusion
Our work continues to evolve. We know that real cultural change like this can cause disruption or discomfort in the short term, but we’re willing to be open, honest and brave about making improvements to diversity at Martin Currie.
Recognising the importance of Diversity and Inclusion, we began a business-wide consultation in 2018 to assess our current position at a grass roots level and to identify any barriers or opportunities.
Insight from employee diversity surveys and drop-in sessions was used to create focussed project groups across areas such as maternity and families, disability inclusion, flexible working and career development. As a result, a list of recommendations to improve Diversity & Inclusion within our business were made to our Executive Committee, including the appointment of our first Head of Diversity & Inclusion, Jennifer Mair.
