Andrew has over 35 years’ investment experience and leads Martin Currie’s Asia equity team. His mission is to help investors grow the value of their capital through ownership of Asia’s best businesses.
He has spent the vast bulk of his career investing in Asia Pacific stock markets, and joined Martin Currie in 2010, after building experience as both a hedge fund and a long-only portfolio manager at some of the leading investment firms of the day including Sofaer Global Research, Putnam Investments, Scottish Widows Investment Partnership and Kemper Investment Management.
Graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in Economics from the University of Strathclyde in 1987, he retains a keen interest in the subject to this day and particularly in the interplay between the real economy and financial markets. Fuelled by a thirst for knowledge, Andrew is dedicated to life-long learning and his reading takes him well beyond economics and markets. When not working or buried in a book, he can be found enjoying the delights of the Scottish countryside with family and friends.
