Alastair has a passion for investing, developed during a career spanning more than 30 years as an equity investor. Over the course of his career, Alastair has led investment teams and managed a broad range of emerging market equity strategies, including frontier markets, region specific funds and small caps.
Alastair joined Martin Currie in 2010 as a portfolio manager when the business expanded its commitment to the Emerging Market asset class. From then on, he has been key to building Martin Currie’s reputation as a global player in Emerging Market investing. He has championed a team-based approach to investing that draws on the diverse experience and perspectives of his colleagues.
Prior to joining Martin Currie, Alastair worked at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, Edinburgh Fund Managers and Scottish Amicable Investment Management.
Alastair likes to spend his free time in the outdoors pursuing a range of hobbies including cycling, sailing and hillwalking.
